There's something about adding a clipart border to a project that ties everything together on the page and makes it look complete. Here are some ideas for what you can use clipart borders for.
What's so great about clipart borders?
- Adding clipart borders to worksheets and other handouts creates instant appeal!
- They're easy to use. You don't have to be incredibly tech savvy or a graphic designer to be able to create a professional looking document or presentation.
- They're versatile. You can use them for so many things like posters, slides, note cards — and so much more!
Where to use clipart borders:
In lessons and worksheets...
- Use clipart borders to create a visually appealing title page for your lesson slides.
- Use simple borders to create worksheets that can be printed out.
- Use different colors for each section of a longer document. This will help readers easily track their place.
- Add other graphics such as icons or photos to create something unique!
On task cards...
Reduce the size of your border and place four to a page. Add text and other fun graphic elements. Coordinate with themes like seasons, SEL topics, hobbies, animals, or anything fun!
In slide presentations...
I use my borders in the art classroom to display quick instructions for my students in Google Slides. It's helpful when a project has multiple steps displayed for students to follow a list on the board. I often don't have a lot of time, so adding borders is a way to make things look a little more polished with minimal effort.
My art teacher friend uses them to make sure she always has her objectives displayed, and she will change the slide as different grades come in as she introduces what they're doing for the day.
The best part is that you can match your slides to your classroom theme, holiday, or season.
I create slide template versions of many of my borders. Of course, you can use standard size as well in your slides. You can check out more in my TPT store HERE.
In teacher resources to sell online...
Clipart borders are commonly used commercially by teacher authors creating lessons, task cards and other educational products. Make sure to read the "Terms of Use" from each individual artist to make sure you know what is allowed.
This is an essential clip art border set for teacher sellers:
